Part 2 of EN 302 208 V1.2.1 has been published in the Official Journal of the European Commission. This means that the standard may now be used as a basis for Declarations of Conformity under the R&TTE Directive.

The new version of the standard defines the use of the four-channel plan and supersedes the previous version, which specifies LBT (Listen before Talk).
Details of the citation may be found at page 59 of the Official Journal-2008-C280 published on 4 Nov 08. The date given for expiry of the transition period, when V1.1.2 will be withdrawn, is 31 Dec 09. After that date all new systems placed on the market must comply with the four-channel plan. However existing installed systems operating to V1.1.2 may continue to operate indefinitely.
